A thigh lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure designed to tighten the skin of the thighs to reduce sagging in the inner thighs. This surgical procedure is performed to reshape the thighs by reducing excess skin. In most cases it is performed in conjunction with liposuction to reduce excess fat, resulting in smoother skin and better-proportioned contours of the thighs and lower body. If the skin has good elasticity however, liposuction of the thighs alone can achieve great results. A thigh lift surgery does leave a scar but for those with poor skin elasticity and too much excess skin it can drastically achieve a more toned and proportionate appearance of your legs.
Different surgical techniques are available for thigh lift. One procedure does not work for everyone. I will determine which procedure will be best for you after a physical exam and discussion of your desires. While deciding the surgical approach many factors must be considered such as your expectations, thigh skin elasticity, amount of fatty tissue in the thighs, location of loose skin, age, overall health etc.
During the surgery, an incision is made along the inside of the upper arm, often spanning from the underarm to the elbow. Then excess fat is removed using liposuction, before trimming and tightening the excess skin and suturing it into place. A minimal incision arm lift procedure may be performed for patients with only a small amount of excess skin.
