Breast augmentation surgery can bring out your internal confidence. It can either give you what you never had, or it can give you back what you lost with pregnancy and breast-feeding. My purpose is to give you as natural a result as possible while taking into account your particular issues and desires. What is right for one woman may be very different from what another woman has. Most women are concerned mainly with improving size, but when we see a patient we are looking at many different aspects of the breasts apart from size such as shape, chest&breast dimensions, skin quality, nipple position. If you have sagging of the breasts, breast augmentation surgery is combined with a breast lift.

Frequently Asked Questions About Breast Augmentation Surgery
What kind of anesthesia is used?
Breast augmentation surgery is done under general anesthesia or sedation anesthesia in a hospital.
What types of breast implants are available?
Breast implants are available with both smooth and textured surfaces. The sizes available range from 100 to 800 ccs.
Are silicone implants safe?
Multiple large studies have been done, each time concluding that there is no correlation between silicone gel implants and these diseases and that silicone gel implants are safe to use in cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery. Until now, there has been no correlation between silicone and cancer or other immune system diseases. However, in recent years, a tumor that originated from the capsule surrounding the mammary epithelium has been reported. This tumor, called anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL), is not breast cancer but is caused by the capsule surrounding the silicone. This rare tumor is generally slow and well behaved. If detected it is treated with removal of silicone and surrounding capsule. All of the patients who received proper treatment have gained health. Regular clinical and radiological follow-up of the mammary should be done before and after the operation.
What incisions are used?
The most common incisions used for breast augmentation are inframammary incision in the crease under the breast and peri-areolar incision around the lower edge of the areola.
Which is better, over or under the muscle?
Breast implants can be placed either behind the breast tissue, or behind both breast tissue and muscle. The most appropriate method is selected according to the patient. Although I can apply all methods, I usually prefer submuscular (behind the muscle) method.
Will I be able to breastfeed after breast augmentation?
Placing a breast implant through an inframammary fold approach keeps milk ducts leading to the nipple intact. Women may however have changes in breast size and shape due to pregnancy and lactation.
Do breast implants need to be replaced after 10 years?
Although change is recommended in some sources in 10 years, there is no definite time for this. There is no specific timeframe during which replacement is necessary, but problems with implants can develop over time. Ruptured implants should be replaced.
What is capsular contracture?
When any medical device is implanted, our body forms a thin layer of tissue around it. This thin layer of tissue is called a “capsule.” In some women the capsule can become thicker and tighter, making the implant feel firmer than it should. Tight capsules can become painful with time. Capsular contracture can occur at any time after breast augmentation. Surgery may be needed again to correct the deformity.
How is the recovery period?
Recovery from breast implant surgery is fairly easy. Some patients can return to work in a few days, but it is better to rest for a week. It takes about two weeks to return to many normal activities and about four weeks to return to sporting activities.
