Arm lift (brachioplasty) is a surgical procedure to reshape the upper arm area. Arm lift surgery is performed to remove excess fat and skin from the upper arms for a more toned, slimmer appearance.
Different surgical techniques are available for arm lift. One procedure does not work for everyone. I will determine which procedure will be best for you after a physical exam and discussion of your desires. While deciding the surgical approach many factors must be considered such as your expectations, arm skin elasticity, amount of fatty tissue in the arm, location of loose skin, age, overall health etc.
During the surgery, an incision is made along the inside of the upper arm, often spanning from the underarm to the elbow. Then excess fat is removed using liposuction, before trimming and tightening the excess skin and suturing it into place. A minimal incision arm lift procedure may be performed for patients with only a small amount of excess skin.
